Advanced Carpet Care - I converted a print logo for web usage, added some style to it and incorporated it into the
header.
I presented the FAQ's in an interactive javascript based accordian to simplify the layout of
them, keep the navigational links in sight for easy access, and to save on space.
PHP include tags are used to call certain elements that are saved to seperate HTML files
such as the header, top navigation links, left column, and footer. This means that updates
to these elements can be done by updating that one HTML file and the element will be
changed throught the whole site. Much quicker that updating all of the pages within a site.
When the designer saves time, the client saves money.
The web graphics were created and optimized for the web in Photoshop CS2 and I wrote
100% valid XHTML and CSS coding to bring it all together. I’ve tested the site in several
of the more popular web browsers for cross browser compatibility, including the two most
recent versions of Internet Explorer (6 and 7), Firefox, Safari, and Netscape. I’ve also
tested in some of the lesser used web browsers and older versions of the popular ones such
as Flock, Opera, IE 5.5 and 5.0. This means that virtually everyone who views it will see
the site the way that it was meant to be seen regardless of ones computer screen resolution
or the type of web browser they are using.
Sizzling India - I recreated the logo (plate w/steam) by scanning from a low quality
tri-fold paper menu and redesigning over it from scratch. Using Illustrator CS2 I was
able to produce a high quality vector image that can be rescaled to any size, smaller
or larger, without losing any quality in resolution. This makes it ideal down the road
for myself or another graphic designer to easily incorporate the logo into any other
type of design project. When a designer saves time the client saves money.
